Remove supported metadata in a separate copy

Remove supported JPG EXIF, XMP, IPTC, and location blocks or PNG EXIF, text, timestamp, and Content Credentials chunks. WebP cleanup removes EXIF and XMP. HEIC/HEIF cleanup clears supported EXIF and XMP values while retaining other metadata and image properties. Color profiles and unrecognized data are kept. Pixel-based watermarks are not affected.

Can I edit image metadata online?

Change an available field, save your edits, and download a separate copy in the original format. Technical, binary, IPTC, and unsupported values are read-only.

What photo metadata can I review?

The tool can show supported EXIF, IPTC, XMP, GPS, camera, creator, copyright, date, and software details when present. PNG text chunks can contain descriptions or AI generation parameters. The fields shown depend on the image and the supported metadata layout.

Can I remove EXIF data from JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC images?

Yes, for supported layouts. JPG cleanup removes supported photo metadata blocks. PNG cleanup removes eXIf, tEXt, zTXt, iTXt, tIME, and caBX chunks. WebP cleanup removes EXIF and XMP chunks. HEIC/HEIF cleanup clears supported EXIF and XMP values; other metadata and image properties stay unchanged. Every action creates a separate copy.

Does removing metadata affect image quality?

The encoded image data is not drawn or re-encoded when you edit or clean metadata. Color profiles are preserved. Removing JPG EXIF can remove an orientation tag, so a viewer may display a rotated image differently. HEIC/HEIF image orientation and other image properties are kept.

Can the tool identify AI-generated images?

It can show supported AI-related labels found in the image metadata. A label is a declaration, not proof of how an image was made. No marker does not prove the image is human-made. Pixel-based watermarks such as SynthID are not detected or removed.

Will removing metadata remove C2PA Content Credentials?

JPG or PNG cleanup can remove supported Content Credentials data, including the PNG caBX chunk, making that provenance unavailable in the copy. HEIC/HEIF cleanup only clears supported EXIF and XMP values and does not remove every provenance record. Editing metadata may invalidate existing credentials. Removing a record does not change any disclosure obligations.
